On Oaxaca’s wild Pacific coast, Puerto Escondido has become more than a surf town — it’s a design hideaway for those chasing both waves and architecture. Among the most remarkable stays, Casa VO stands out as a truly unique Puerto Escondido Airbnb, designed by Ludwig Godefroy.

Built as a pair of “brother houses,” these concrete sanctuaries challenge the conventional idea of domestic space. Rather than designing a house with a garden, Godefroy inverted the formula — creating a garden that becomes the house. The result is a living structure where nature flows freely through courtyards, voids, and raw textures.

Located near La Punta Zicatela, one of the most vibrant surf neighborhoods in Puerto Escondido, the house offers easy access to morning surf sessions, sunset mezcal bars, and slow tropical days.

Casa VO can be booked on Airbnb, starting around US$550 per night, depending on the season. Designed as part of twin houses, each home hosts up to four guests, offering complete privacy behind raw concrete walls and tropical foliage.

Just a few minutes away is Casa TO, another project by Godefroy — a small boutique hotel that has become a design reference on the Oaxacan coast. Its iconic pool framed by concrete arches and Glou Glou, the in-house restaurant serving natural wines and coastal dishes, make it a beautiful alternative stay nearby.

For travelers who look for beauty with intention — surf, solitude, and architecture in quiet conversation — Casa VO is more than a stay. It’s a feeling of balance between earth and air, simplicity and depth.

Definitely one of the most memorable Airbnbs I’ve stayed in.
